About

McAllister House Museum was built by Maj. Henry McAllister, an early resident of Colorado Springs, who determined that his new home would be built to withstand the very worst of the elements. It is one of the few houses surviving from that era. Quite substantial for its time, the house was finished to include marble fireplaces from Philadelphia, unique "doorway" windows and carpentry work by later mining mogul W.S. Stratton.
