About

Liberty Hall was the home of John Brown, one of Kentucky’s first two senators who served from 1792-1805. He and his wife, Margaretta Mason from New York City, lived here from 1801 until their deaths in the late 1830s. Subsequent generations of the Brown family occupied the home until 1937. Liberty Hall is considered one of the finest examples of Georgian architecture in Kentucky.
