Predominant Motif: Sampler has three horizontal motif sections. The first section contains a central flower spray within a symmetrical arrangement of flower sprays, birds, stags and trees. The second depicts the Temptation of Adam and Eve beside the Tree of Knowledge with flowers and birds on each side. The final section has three flower sprays with two inscribed panels between them containing small detached motifs and the words Reversing arcaded flower border with a parrot in both upper corners and a rampant lion in each bottom corner.
