Membership
15,000+ members. 44 corporate societies. 1 common goal.
The National Society of the Colonial Dames of America is a national organization with members from across our great country, including 43 states and the District of Columbia. Members are descended from more than 10,000 men and women who served the American colonies prior to July 5, 1776. Brought together by a shared love of country, the members of this organization are committed to our mission of preserving and promoting this nation's history for generations to come.
What Dames Do
Carving out a future for our country’s history is no small feat; luckily, our members are not afraid of hard work. Our three mission areas of historic preservation, patriotic service, and educational programs help us ensure that, as America looks ahead to the future, our nation's history is examined, understood, and remembered. Ongoing efforts include:
- Great American Treasures Museum Alliance
- Grant and scholarship programs
- Civic engagement and education
- Service to the military
- State and local outreach programs
- Genealogy tools and resources
- And more
