About the Award

Named in honor of inspirational Dame Virginia Stuart Cobb, the Cobb Award for Generosity and Purpose acknowledges an NSCDA member for leadership in furthering our mission and impact on our organization. Much like the woman for whom the award is named, the recipient of the Cobb Award is recognized for her outstanding qualities, including philanthropy, generosity of spirit, vision for the future, devotion, and service to the NSCDA and her greater community.

Qualifications

The Virginia Stuart Cobb Award for Generosity and Purpose honors a member who has provided exemplary leadership in furthering the mission of the NSCDA. She is recognized for her many outstanding qualities including:

  • Generosity of spirit
  • Philanthropic leadership
  • Vision for the future of the Dames
  • Devotion to the Dames

She is an inspiration to her fellow Dames, as well as to her community. This award will be presented at the NSCDA's Biennial meetings, provided a candidate is selected for this honor.
