- Sampler includes three buildings, a church, and at the bottom a house on the L and another church on the R. One wide octagon cross band. Figures of a man and four women. Many trees, birds, flowers in baskets and on stems, a row of eight pointed stars, and one crown. Across the bottom four military ships, an indication of England's maritime power. Arcaded strawberry border all four sides.

- HOW VAIN ARE ALL THINGS HERE BELOW / If you desire to worship God aright, / First in the morning Pray and last at night. / And crave his blessings on your labours all, / And in distress for his assistance call. Elizabeth Hesketh is my name / England is my nation / Hindly is my dwelling Place / And christ is my Salvation. (Note: Elizabeth used both the long and the short style letter S. She ran out of space for the word salvation and squeezed it in tiny letters.)
