- Sampler is separated into nine squares The first square (top L): five star-shaped flowers. The second (top center) has a verse. The third (top right) a chrysanthemum (?), along with some buds and leafs. Square #4 has a verse. The center square has a rose bush on a hill. Square #6 has a verse. Square 7 a flower, #8 a verse and #9 flowers. A twisted ribbon type inner border. An outer reversing arcaded border on all four sides with carnations and a tulip in each corner. The sampler is attached at all edges to woven tape, which is nailed to a wooden mat.
