- Inscription
- (On L top): Look gently down almighty grace / Prison me round to thy embrace / Pitty the heart that would be thine / And let thy power my love confine / (On R top): Let pure devotion warm my heart / With grattitude and love / For thou each blessing dost impart / And canst each passion move / (On L near bottom): O may I heavenly treasure find / And choose the better part / Give me a humble pious mind / A meek and lowly heart. (On R near bottom): My soul with sacred ardour fir'd / The glorious prize pursues / And meet with joy the high command / To bid this earth adieu. / (At bottom): William & Margaret / Thompson / Mary Thompson's Work / Palmyra School November 1824 / IT HT THT / ET WmT CT /
