- Sampler is divided into four sections. The top panel has motifs of angels, baskets of fruit, a tree, a flowering plant. The second has a funeral carriage with flag, a small tree and plants on the L and part of a tree and a bird on the R. The next panel has motifs of three trees, two deer, flying birds, perched birds, baskets of flowers. The bottom panel has a four story building on a green lawn. Flying birds, perched birds, a leopard, tall geometric trees, rabbits. A scrolled arcaded border with flowers all four sides.

- (On the carriage): LORD VISCOUNT NELSON / FUNERAL CAR / JANUARY NINTH / 1807 / TRINIDAD BUCENTAURE (note: Bucentaure is the name of the French ship in the Battle of Trafalgar) / (Note #2: when sampler was removed from the frame in 1996 penciled in was the name Elizabeth Ball, aged 8 years, 1816). //
