Inscription
The dying Christian to his soul / VITAL spark of heavenly flame! / Quit, O quit this mortal frame. / Trembling, hoping, ling'ring, flying / Oh the pain, the bliss of dying! / Cease, fond nature, cease thy strife, / And let me lanquish into life / / The world recedes, it disappears; / Heav,n opens on my eyes: my ears / With sounds seraphic ring, / Lend, lend your wings! I mount! I fly! / O Grave where is thy victory? / O death! where is thy sting? / / (note: The Vital Spark of Heavenly Flame by Alexander Pope 1688-1744) (In the center) The Wish. / I sigh not for beauty, nor languish for wealth, / But grant me, kind Providence! virtue and health, / Then, richer than king, and more happy than they, / My days shall pass sweetly and swiftly away / Sarah White / Aged 10 Years / 18 30 //
