Notes
Notes: The info in these links are in conflict. The Answer that Mary Monck wrote on her deathbed to her husband does not seem to contain this verse (although I have not found a complete copy). There are references to this verse that say Mary Monck is the author. Dates are different and although some publications are mentioned I can’t find copies on line to prove this. Mary Monck was Irish but lived later years in Bath. Unsure where she wrote this verse. https://allpoetry.com/poem/16403119-The-Answer-by-Mary-Monck https://www.eighteenthcenturypoetry.org/works/o5157-w0760.shtml https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Monck https://quod.lib.umich.edu/e/ecco/004887768.0001.006/1:3.76?rgn=div2;view=fulltext http://antiquesamplers.com/samplers/green,-eliza.htm photo and info on sampler worked by.
