Dumbarton House Seeks Interns for Summer 2019
Through an outstanding collection of Federal Period fine and decorative arts, preserved period rooms, and rotating exhibitions, Dumbarton House tells the stories of the early city of Washington and offers visitors a view of what life was like in the earliest days of our nation’s capital. Dumbarton House serves as the headquarters of The National Society of the Colonial Dames of America, an organization devoted to historic preservation and education. Through its Corporate Societies, the NSCDA owns, maintains, or supports over 80 historic sites and collections around the country.
2019 Internship Opportunities:
- Archives Intern: inventory and cataloging of the NSCDA archives collection housed at Dumbarton House.
- Curatorial Intern: research, write, and develop an exhibition which will open in the winter of 2020.
- Great American Treasures Intern: assist with the launch of the new NSCDA program, Great American Treasures.
