Local Student Amaya D’Souza Meets Congressman Raul Ruiz Through National Essay Contest

A local student’s passion for history and civic leadership recently took her all the way to Washington, D.C. Amaya D’Souza, a community reporter and high school student from Palm Desert, was selected as a winner of the National Society of Colonial Dames of America Congressional Essay Contest for the state of California.
