- (At the top): Ants in Batb??? to their Cells convey, The plunder'd yellow Forage of their Prey / The little Drudges trot about, and sweat, But will not strit devour all that they get / For in their Mouths we See them carry home, A Stock for Winter, which they know must come / (In the center): The happiest Man that ever breath'd on Earth, / With all the Glories of Estate and Birth, / Had yet some anxious care, to make him know / No Grandeur was above the reach of Woe / To be from all Things, that disquiet, free, / Is not consistent with Humanity (note: Poem by Pomfret) / (In a small cartouche near the bottom): Miss Ann Clark / Finished 1799 //
