- 2 alphabets: 26 letters. Numbers 1-10. Various cross bands. Bottom third has various spot motifs including geometric and floral patterns. At the bottom a large dark green duck with its ducklings. Eleven sets of initials. (Note: Esther stitcher her sampler when she was thirteen. In 1817, when she was about twenty-one she gave birth to a son out of wedlock and went back to her sampler to add his name and birth date with black letters near the end of the verse. (Note: teacher is unknown, but her sister Mary created a similar sampler two years later under the same instructress).
