Sampler is divided into 7 various sized shapes with diamond border. In the upper square on both sides is a basket with flowers and two diamond shapes. Below this is a square with strawberry, diamond shapes and a flower. In the center upper rectangle is a large basket of flowers with strawberries and other motifs. The bottom has a two story house, two large trees on both sides with a another small tree on the R and various birds on the ground. Each tree and the house has a bird perched on the top. No border.

(In a center rectangle): Sophia Shindel a Daughter of Jacob and Catharine / Shindel was born Febuary 21 St 1812 and made this / sampler in the 13th Year of her age in Mary Reeds / School in the year of our Lord 1834 / Blest saviour Cheer that dark some way and Lead me / To the realms of day to milder skies and brighter plains / where everlasting sunshine reigns / His hand is my perpetual guard He keeps me with / His eye Why should i than forget the Lord who is / For ever nigh....why shold I say tis yet too soon / To Seek for heaven or think of death a flower may / Fade before tis noon and i this day may lose my brath / Comforts that shall oeo death prevail and Journey
