Across the bottom a large weeping willow flows behind a tall tomb with an urn on top. Two animals are on the R, and a woman in black is on the L. In the background a church. At the upper portion a large basket of fruit on the L, an urn with flowers on the R. Reversing arcaded carnation and strawberry border all four sides.

(In a flowered cartouche): PETITION. N / Jesus permit thy gracious name to stand / As the first effort of a youthful hand / And as her fingers on the canvass move / Engage her tender heart to seek thy love / Mary Lawrence Trenton // (On a paper label is noted: Memory of my Affectionate Father, Samuel Lawrence, Died 1816).
