Inscription
IT is the LORD / Let him do what seemeth him good / IT is the Lord_ enhroned in light, Whose claims are all divine / Who has an undisputed right / To govern me and mine. / IT is the LORD_ who can sustain / Beneath the heaviest Load / From whom assistance I obtain / To tread the thorny road / Can I, with hope so firmly built, / Be sullen or repine; / No gracious God take what thou wilt, / To thee I all resign. / / (At the bottom): Sarah Maria Preston's Work Aged 13 years AD 1837
