- Predominent Motif
- 1 alphabet: uppercase 26 letters. Many motifs found on "Hunterdon collared deer" school samplers, such as: the octagonal cartouche around her inscription, houses, droopy tulip & iris cluster, strawberries, spiky pine tree, birds, hearts and baskets of fruit and flowers. One unusual motif is the steamboat at the upper right. Although the signature seated collared deer is not present, this sampler was made under the elusive collared deer instructress. A simple geometric bud and vine border all four sides.
