An 'en grisaille' (a term for painting and in this case embroidery, entirely in monochrome or near monochrome.....usually shades of grey) landscape with a church and a village on the banks of a river. Two sailboats in the distance. Two men, one poling a boat in the middle distance. Trees and bushes are done in closely worked seed stitches to create the leaves.
