- You'll mend your life to morrow still you cry for what far country does this morrow lie / It stays so long tis fetch'd so far I fear t'will be both very old and very dear / Tell me ye knowing and discerning few where I may find a friend that?s firm and true / that dare stand by me when in deep distress and then his love and friendship most express / EVER THY CREDIT KEEP TIS QUICKLY GONE / BY MANY ACTIONS GOT AND LOST BY ONE / This world is like a sea in it we're toss'd by winds and storms till life itself is lost / What we use while here we stay till death calls for us home and takes from us our breath / then why should we who find and leave them here prize them so much and to part with them fear / Lucy Dalbiac Her work september the 6 1769 aged 8 years //
