Watts, Isaac. Hymns and Spiritual Songs. 2nd Ed., London: John Lawrence, 1709. pg. 71.
Notes
First appears in this, the second edition of Watt’s hymnal: https://archive.org/details/bim_eighteenth-century_hymns-and-spiritual-song_watts-isaac_1709/page/n94/mode/1up?q=%22great+reward%22 The note in Bolton and Coe is correct, it is Hymn 88. The second line is slightly varied from the original which uses “t’insure the great reward” The last two lines do not appear in the original hymn. After a thorough search there was no other result for these.
